Arrivals, home to your corner
Airport pickup at SLC for the Salt Lake Valley, reserved before you land
When your flight comes down at Salt Lake City International Airport, a reserved car can take you from the terminal back to your own corner of the county. This page covers airport pickup at SLC for the Salt Lake Valley: you send a request with your flight number and home address, the office asks one local car company that serves your corner for its written fare, and you get that fare back to accept or turn down. The car company drives, confirms the ride in writing and is the one you pay. Riders pay the office nothing.
Your flight number, passed along to the company
Put the flight number on the request, with the date the flight is due in and the address you are heading home to. The car company receives that number with your request and plans the pickup time around it; its written fare says how it handles a landing that comes early or late, and you can reply on its confirmation if the time changes. Add how many riders and how many checked bags, and it has what it needs to write a fare.
Back from the airport the fare reads the same road bands as the outbound leg. Holladay, for one, sits in the band up to 17 road miles: from $120 for a sedan and from $160 for an SUV, per car, each way, with the private car to SLC from Holladay, UT page showing that corner in full. Once you say yes and the company confirms, the written fare is a fixed rate for that ride.
Bags upstairs, your car one level down
The airport has one terminal with two concourses, A and B, and after a domestic flight your checked bags come out on the second level; international arrivals come out on the ground level near the escalators. A reserved car picks you up on the commercial lane on the ground level, a short walk down from baggage claim, and the airport signs show the way. In order, it goes like this:
- Collect your checked bags on the second level.
- With your bags in hand, contact the company by the number or message on its written confirmation.
- Follow the airport signs down to the commercial lane.
- The car comes to the lane when you are ready, on the ground level in front of the terminal.
A printed name sign, only on request
Some riders would rather be met inside, especially with children or a heavy load of bags. Ask for it on the request. The driver can park and meet at terminal baggage claim holding a printed name sign, but only when the car company confirms it in writing; its written fare is where that answer appears.
Meeting inside means the car waits in the airport garage while the driver walks in. The company may add that garage parking to its fare, and the written fare shows it before you agree to anything. Without that written yes from the company, the pickup stays on the commercial lane on the ground level, as above.
Landing late and the hours the phone answers
On weekdays the office picks up the phone between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m.; on Saturday and Sunday that window runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Mountain time. Requests through the online form can go in 24/7. Write in during phone hours with 90 minutes or more left before closing, and the written reply reaches you within 90 minutes. Write in at any other hour and it reaches you within the first hour after the phone opens again: by 4 p.m. on a weekday, by 9 a.m. on Saturday or Sunday.
Rides are arranged from the day after that reply is due, so a landing late at night belongs in a request sent well before the day you fly home, not from the baggage carousel. The phone hours are simply when the office answers; the pickup time is whatever the company sets in writing for your landing. For the outbound leg, the ride to Salt Lake City International Airport page walks through the drop on that same ground-level commercial lane.
